HANDS UP!
He he he, wroaa wroaa wroaa
. . . why's he got them two microphones taped together, what if we taped
their dicks together? What would they say.
Once again that Hands Up of early Mothers

Lord I don't know what to do
All I do is sit and cry, oh lord
Since them dead-gone days you said goodbye
well lord I thought I would be die...
The beer that made Milwaukee famous
But the Braves didn't hurt it any
She do me, she do you
She's got the kind of lovin'
Lord I loved to hear when
She called me sweet daddy

I don't want to throw a monkey wrench into the Zappa Family Trust or anything, but on "JCB and Kansas on the Bus#1" on YCDTOSA#5, Jimmy Carl and Kansas sing a good portion of the song "Lovesick Blues" by Irving Mills, Cliff Friend and Hank Williams.
My question is, how much of a song do you need to sing before you need to pay somebody royalties? There's a good portion of the song here.
I can't imagine that Frank was much of a Hank Williams fan, so it's possible that he had no idea what JCB and Kansas are singing--probably thought they made it up. But Lovesick Blues is definitely not written by Black/Kansas/Kunc/Barber.
From: Patrick Neve
Here's the version on my Grandmothers CD, as sung by JCB.:
I got a feelin' called the blues,
Oh lord, since my baby said goodbye
Lord I don't know what I'll do
All I do is sit and cry, oh lord
That last long day she said goodbye
Well, lord, I thought I would die
She do me, she do you
She got that kinda lovin'
Lord I love to hear her when she call me sweet daddy
Such a beautiful dream
I hate to think it all over
I lost my heart it seems
I've grown so used to you somehow
Lord I'm nobody's sugar-daddy now
When I'm lonesone
I got the lovesick blues
Well I'm in love, I'm in love with a beautiful gal
that's whats the matter with me
Well I'm in love, I'm in love with a beautiful gal
'N she don't care about me
Lord I tried an I tried to keep her satisfied
'N she just wouln'dt stay
Now that she is a leavin
This is all I can say
I got a feelin' called the blues,
Oh lord, since my baby said goodbye
Lord I don't know what I'll do
All I do is sit and cry, oh lord
That last long day she said goodbye
Well, lord, I thought I would die
She do me, she do you
She got that kinda lovin'
Lord I love to hear her when she call me sweet daddy
Such a beautiful dream
I hate to think it all over
I lost my heart it seems
I've grown so used to you somehow
Lord I'm nobody's sugar-daddy now
When I'm lonesone
I got the lovesick blues
