All vocal numbers in CD version are of DRAKMA The Queen Of Cosmic Greed character of HUNCHENTOOT comedy. All was sung by Thana Harris the wife of Bob Harris - incredible boy soprano of TTR.

Thana is indeed Susannah is indeed Thana. I know Bob and Susannah and they have been together I think 18 years; and still are married, and have a son......I've never asked either of them (Susannah doesn't really talk about FZ, and I just let Bob tell the stories when he feels like telling me) but my guess that Thana's tracks were not recorded between 74-78, as Bob and Thana hadn't met yet, and I'm almost sure that it was Bob that introduced her to Frank....(though I'm not entirely sure...just a guess)....I've heard Bob call Susannah 'Thana' in person, so this I am sure of......

In fact the natural order of the comedy songs events:-)) is broken in the CD version, because this sentimental piece should be performed after conceptual starter which was "Time Is Money" number and in no way before. The SPACE-GIRL laments is a result of treacherous HUNCHENTOOT's refusal to eat invaders from EARTH. Right after bully SPIDER teased big girly DRAKMA with his mean ne-eegra harmonica.

BTW, very interesting (as a part of funny conceptual fixations of Uncle Frank) that without any sense (both DRAKMA and HUNCHENTOOT sing and play, she's on Space-Zither' and he's on Harmonica as comedy unrolls) DRAKMA when in fury tried to offend HUNCHENTOOT by calling him MUSICIAN!

DRAKMA:
[suddenly angered]

"YOU DESPICABLE . . . DETESTABLE . . .
MUSICIAN! I've given you THE BEST YEARS
OF MY LIFE! I've PAID THE RENT ON YOUR
STUPID LITTLE CAVE, AND . . . AND . . ."

Also the DURK (the guru of invaders from the Earth the FORCE-LINGS) when pretended to be friendly with HUNCHENTOOT says to him as to some Harlem brat about "playing a little trumpet himself"

DURK:
[slightly intimidated]

"Who, uh . . . who seems to be, uh . . .
VERY TALENTED . . . and, uh . . . DANCES
TERRIFIC! Say, Brother, what's happenin'
. . . (play a little trumpet myself),
and, of course, over here we have . . ."

Later in the comedy enraged DRAKMA called him

"Why you miserable, DISGUSTING . . . MUSICIAN!

too.

FLAMBEAU, FLAMBEE, FLAMBOYANT et FLAMBOYER - seems to be another case of French phonetic corruption.

But let Charles speculate about it. Whip it out, Charles. Make the linguistic noise here:-)))

Charles:

Imaginative spelling of "flambee" (with one or two e's, and an acute accent on the first one), which is used to describe food doused in liquor and set on fire. Used figuratively as it is here, it certainly suggests "flamboyant" as well.

Whether the "bay" spelling is intended to suggest a body of water, I don't know. But note that "The Ocean Is The Ultimate Solution" (did Watson miss the pun in this title?) echoes "The Final Solution".

I doubt "flambeau" is relevant, and "flamboyer" is not even an English word.

FLAMBEAU	-	torch
FLAMBEE, FLAMBOYANT	-	flamboyant
FLAMBOYER	-	to shine intensely.

So I insist:-))) that it's a French phonetic corruption for REAL.

Charles:

Yes, but there's no evidence that FZ knew that much French. Flamboyant and, to a lesser extent, flambe(e) are common English words. Flambeau is in English dictionaries, but I didn't recognize it. Flamboyer is not even in dictionaries.

So is much of the English language! Over 70% of all English words are borrowed from other languages, and about 45% are borrowed from French.
