Den Simms claimed that the song was a pan on Yes's _Owner Of A Lonely Heart" song. Is it really so? And from what's album it. (Sorry, but I'm affraid that I never heard Yes in my life)
From: John Henley <jhenley@mail.utexas.edu>
No, "Owner of a Lonely Heart" is from Yes' album "90125" which was released in 1983, 2 years after TTR. However, later stage arrangements of Bamboozled did include the main lick from Lonely Heart.

Ooops! You're right John! How could I forget it obviously was said about 1984 version of the song. I mean on YCDTOSA vol.3 its aroma :-))))

Bamboozled by love,
Oh lord,
the shit done hit the fan
"shit hits the fan [taboo] - A crisis or uproar; trouble; a very tense situation... From an old joke about a person who, not finding a bathroom in a upstairs room. defecates into a hole in the floor; upon rejoing a group downstairs he is asked, "Where were you when the shit hit the fan?"

I've challenged that anecdote many times on other newsgroups because it is only funny if "the shit hit the fan" is already an established expression for stuff going way wrong. As a coinage in and of itself it doesn't really make sense as a joke.
